ABOUT THE f*mz
Women’s Music Center Hamburg
As a unique institution in Germany, we have been creating a space for girls and FLINTA* to try their hand at music since 1987. More than 110 musicians currently rehearse at our venue in a backyard in Ottensen.
From hip hop to rock, swing to jazz, and pop to electro, all genres are represented here, from beginners to professionals. Our fully equipped rehearsal rooms offer a wide range of instruments and event technology (drum sets, bass and electric guitars, amplifiers, mixing consoles/vocal systems, pianos, electric pianos, mobile recording studio, DJ set, WiFi access, etc.).
The Women’s Music Center is funded by the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg – Ministry of Culture and Media
(FLINTA* is an abbreviation that expresses who rehearses and is in our rooms. It stands for women (meaning cis heterosexual women), lesbians, intersex people, non-binary people, trans people, and agender people. We use the gender star to say: Anyone who identifies as a girl* or woman* is welcome here. People who identify as non-binary or genderqueer, i.e., not exclusively male or female, are also welcome to join us.)

- We look forward to your registration! However, we would ask that you only register if you are sure that you can actually take part in the seminar. In recent years, we have had too much trouble processing cancellations, refunding participation fees, etc. Of course, there are good reasons to cancel your participation. However, we ask for your understanding that we can only refund the participation fees if you cancel at least two weeks before the seminar. Unfortunately, this is no longer possible.
