Music allows me to immerse myself in different worlds and explore new and old sounds.
To play sometimes loudly, sometimes softly. Music teaches me note by note—and then silence.
In addition to the saxophone, I also play the piano, guitar, and ukulele, and have been practicing body percussion for years.
I’ve won awards twice at the Summer Jazz Festival and was honored with the Jazz Prize for Menage à Trois.
I’ve played in numerous bands, including Gängsstars, Jazzafaries, Menage à Trois, Hamburg City Blues Preachers, jazz-o-phonic 4, Horny Organism, Das Duo schlägt zurück, Refonion, JazzLine, Jazzonettes, and Tudo Bem…
Other highlights: various big bands, studio recordings, CD recordings. Commissioned compositions for films, radio plays, and sound installations,
and I also write songs for special occasions. Theater (Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg), instructor at LAG Rock, adult education music classes at various schools and the University of Hamburg. Hot Sommer Groove Hamburg, workshops throughout Germany.
