Here you can find some examples of musicians who are currently rehearsing at f*mz.

Donjana
Klezmer band
Since 2018, the three amateur musicians have formed “Donjana” together and play klezmer music that gets the soul and legs swinging. They got to know each other through the Erfurt Klezmer Orchestra, an amateur/semi-professional orchestra with more than 7o members, which performs annually in non-corona times.
Donjana’s joy of playing, their ability to “lose themselves” and always “find themselves again” and their enthusiasm for melancholy, cheerful music is infectious. They make music “at eye level” and enjoy accompanying people when they want to come together.

Kimsar
Kimsar is a singer-songwriter from France. The name Kimsar, however, comes from higher up in the Indian Himalayas, where she used to collect women’s songs. From the creative diversity of folk and world music, as well as from her love of French chanson, she has built her own imaginative imaginary. There’s a piquant flute, a grooving guitar and lots of looping in the style of Camille or Björk.
At the Altonale, Kimsar presented her new solo show, which already contains songs from her next record. Her first record can already be found online and has been labeled by the French equivalent of Gema. She now lives partly in Hamburg and rehearses at the Frauenmusikzentrum.”

Linde Yu Bauß from YU ‘n`ZU
Oriental jazz pop
http://www.yu-n-zu.de/
YU ‘n’ ZU have been thrilling audiences for over 20 years on various stages in and around Hamburg.
Both musicians spent several years of their childhood abroad – in Turkey and Japan. Their music expresses a longing for a distant culture – foreign and yet familiar. Home is the theme of the new, multilingual program, as well as hope, loneliness and humour.
The audience can expect intelligent, creative, experimental music that arouses emotions, with a beat and precise rhythm; music that effortlessly creates connections between pop, jazz, oriental rhythms and melodies.
From Swedish to Turkish – those who like surprises will enjoy it.
Linde Yu Bauß // Singer, vocal teacher and band coach is also a lecturer for the girls’ bands* at f*mz and has coached many bands.

A-Quadrat
RhythMusiKabarett
https://www.a-quadrat.org/
The name brings back memories of math lessons. Better take a quick look at the stage then, because A Quadrat is pure entertainment.
You can also learn something: for example, what RhythMusiKabarett means. The duo with strong voices and rhythms cruises through the absurdities of life. Packed, underlaid or sometimes overlaid with beautiful sounds, powerful rhythms and quirky harmonies. Analog and in real time.
You can hear and see them: Drums, vocals, tin cans, keyboard, body percussion, melodica, ukulele, stove tops and whatever else the two of them can get their hands on.
A Quadrat knows the stage like the back of their hand, as they were both on the road with “Trude träumt von Afrika” for over 20 years. Now as a solo. As a duo. In a square. Annette Kayser studied drums – Keo Hundius is also a percussionist (sounds funny, but is also loud).

Sir Bradley
Jazz at its finest
https://www.sirbradley.de/
Rough blues, crude constructions, intimate lyricism, fragility, radiant latte groove.
The quartet’s sound is oriented towards contemporary jazz, the themes are inspired by new music, jazz or pop.
The compositions are often intellectual constructions that, when brought to sound, always find a strong emotional expression.

Sticks & Stöckl
Women* samba band
https://sticksundstoeckl.de/
The musicians of “Sticks & Stöckl” shine with their passion for danceable rhythms, quirky choreographies and eye-catching costumes.
All kinds of large and small drums from across the Atlantic* are used, as well as misunderstood instruments such as triangles, bells and shakers – and harmony makes its entrance with accordion, mandolin and co.
* such as surdos, repiniques, timbals, caixas, cuica, tamborims, congas …

Bertha Blue
Bertha Blue
https://bertha-blau.de
17 women with saxophones, clarinets, drums, percussion and electric bass – that’s the BigBandBerthaBlau. They play music ranging from swing and Latin to klezmer, well-known movie tunes and folk. They play for your ears, heart and dancing feet!
Delicate melancholic sounds are followed by groovy beats in the next piece – so it’s not just seasoned jazz fans who get their money’s worth at their concerts. Their unmistakable signature: an unusual line-up “completely without brass” with their own exciting arrangements and always surprising instrumentation!
The BigBandBerthaBlau was formed in 2003 at the Altona Women’s Music Center.

Hannah Koerner
Singersongwriter/Pop
https://hannahkoerner.de
If Hannah Koerner were to draw the world, it would consist of many fine brushstrokes, with great attention to detail and in pastel shades. The small cracks in the paper, where the color often tends towards darker tones, are the subject of her songs. Sometimes with a great deal of lightness, never without a glimmer of hope and perhaps sometimes with a slight tendency towards drama.
The music of singer-songwriter Hannah captivates with its simplicity and sincerity, clothed in pop songs – catchy and profound. The sparse piano playing leaves plenty of room for the raw yet powerful voice, which immediately casts a spell over you.

Oladi Naht
Progressive Pain Pop
Sensitive songs and lyrics by the singer-songwriter Oladi Naht.

Ines Linn
Indie-folk-pop
https://www.ineslinnmusic.de/
Breathe in, breathe out – breathe deeply. The music of indie folk musician Ines Linn picks you up where life begins. The music comes on, the noise inside you goes out. Poetic-metaphorical lyrics meet the piano, which carries you through the songs together with delicate drums. Delicate guitar picking tickles your ear on one side while the warm cello purrs on the other. It’s about sensitivity and love. To oneself and others and to nature. It’s about being able to lose yourself and find yourself. A deep dive into the now. Right here.

Sparclub
Punk rock
https://sparclub.bandcamp.com/album/proberaum/
Hamburg noise band – come to the club, fuck saving money! They certainly don’t skimp on decibels. But they do save on long words and complicated melodies. But “Hello Tinnitus!”.
The Sparclubers* who have been leading the way have been rehearsing the noise since the end of 2020 and making their music without dudes who know everything better. FLINTA*people to the front! See you at the club.

Annie Anyway
Punk rock
https://www.facebook.com/annieanyway/
Guitar, bass, drums and everyone gets to sing. Based on solid punk rock, Annie Anyway play musically all around and in terms of content across all moods and situations in life. With English and German lyrics, polyphonic vocals and varying rhythm structures, there are always surprises in store – especially for the three girls from Hamburg themselves.

Gosia Jasinska
Alabama meets Slavic heaviness
“Gosia, you’re not cool! “You’re emancipated, warm-hearted and chaotic.”
Tobias Gradert – graphic designer and storyteller
This comes as a surprise, because at first glance you get to know a lively and cheeky Kodderschnauze who doesn’t mince her words. The singer from Szczecin has been performing on the stages of northern Germany for many years.
Tender, quiet, full of feeling and then exploding again like a force of nature with raw and dirty sounds, she takes her audience on an emotional journey that guarantees goose bumps and an unforgettable evening.
It can happen that a crowded venue falls silent after the first notes of this power woman, because the musician from Szczecin understands the blues as a natural part of her own history and thus strives for the hearts of her audience from the first to the last note.
A big pinch of blues, a few drops of folk, a dash of indie and, last but not least, a good shot of soul.
