Born in Russia and raised in the Ukraine and Germany, she comes from a family with a classical musical background that was also rooted in the Jewish musical tradition. She lived in Brazil, among other places, where she got to know and love the “choro” and “samba”. Today the artist lives in Hamburg.
Kateryna Ostrovska is a singer, composer and instrumentalist who has released six albums over the course of her career (in the genres of Brazilian music and klezmer) and has performed on major stages in Brazil, the USA and throughout Europe. She is originally from the Ukraine, but has strong ties to the music scene in Rio de Janeiro.
