DJ TAĪĪZ is a mul.talented Afghan ar.st, born in Hamburg in the 1980s to an ar.s.c family.
She is primarily known for her work as a DJ. Her diverse musical upbringing exposed her to a wide range of genres, par.cularly South Asian/Afghan music, Hip Hop, R&B, and more.
TAĪĪZ ist eine in Hamburg geborene afghanische DJ, Kuratorin und Mitbegründerin des Labels Anaristan Saaz. Bekannt für ihre energetischen und magischen Sets, verbindet sie Klänge aus der SWANA-Region (Südwestasien und Nordafrika) mit globaler Clubmusik – von Hip-Hop über Baile Funk bis hin zu Afrobeat – und bringt so das afghanische musikalische Erbe auf zeitgenössische Dancefloors.
In October 2023, she launched Deejaystān—one of the first SWANA+ events in Hamburg, where music from SWANA contexts meets global club sounds. Through projects such as Soundspuren (ByteFM), Afghanistan’s hidden musical treasures, and her label work, she is committed to making marginalized perspectives audible and questioning existing power structures in the music scene.
