With input from Tutku Kaplan\, Silvie Torneden\, and Peta Devlin\, all three of whom are awesome F*MZ creators\, you’ll learn how visibility\, fairness\, and networks strengthen the live music scene in the long term—and why diversity is a prerequisite for future-oriented cultural work. DESCRIPTION:In this workshop we invite you to get a little insight into the world of (live) sound and lighting technology. \nThe approach is learning by doing – in one afternoon we will set up\, connect\, adjust and operate the sound and lighting equipment needed for a small concert room and stage together. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and get to know the theory behind the practice. It will be intensive but also fun!   \nThe aim at the end is to do a sound check with a small band and to illuminate the stage and band well. And also to determine how closely these two areas work together to achieve a successful concert experience.  \nTopics and questions that we will address: \nSound\nHow do you set up a band on stage?\nWhat kind of equipment do we need and what is it for?\nHow is everything set up\, connected and wired?\nHow do I set up microphones?\nWhat is a DI box and why do I need it?\nWhat exactly happens at the mixing desk?\nHow is a sound check carried out?\nWhat is a good sound anyway? \nStage lighting\nWhat does light do to the stage atmosphere?\nWhich color combinations work and how?\nWhat is the best way to position stage lighting?\nHow can you achieve a great effect with well-placed light? \nA little insight for all those interested in sound and lighting technology in the live sector. DESCRIPTION:(For all instruments and singers\, including shower singers)\n\nBeautiful melodies\, poignant lyrics and lots of stories.\nYiddish is a language that is hardly spoken in Europe anymore\, yet it is very accessible to German speakers. Kateryna Ostrovska inherited the last bits of this unique culture from her family. All theory is gray\, but not boring!    \nIn this workshop\, I want to give you some information that is difficult to obtain in its complexity. \nWhat is the difference between composition and recording? What does GEMA do? What does GVL do? Is it worth it for me? How does a woman* get the money from the collecting societies? Which ones make sense? How do I license music for websites\, YouTube\, TicToc etc.? Do I need a publishing deal?
