Have you always wanted to learn how to DJ, but don’t know where to start? In this two-day intensive workshop (5 hours each), you will learn the basics of digital DJing and gain a comprehensive insight into the technology, theory and practice.

What you can expect:

What is DJing? Introduction to the basics and tasks of DJs.

Sound carriers & formats: MP3, WAV, AIFF, FLAC – what’s behind them?

Find and organize music: Tips on online stores and USB formatting.

DJ software: Introduction to Rekordbox and Traktor.

Technical DJ basics: beatmatching, transitions, counting bars, BPM & cue.

Sound engineering basics: volume level, signal flow, gain, equalizer (EQ), cable types and the importance of monitors.

Devices and setups: Pioneer multi-player, mixer, laptop, controller – functions and application.

Practical part: Setting up a DJ setup together and trying it out on your own.

Technology recommendations: What’s worth getting started with?
You will have the opportunity to try out what you have learned at several stations in a relaxed atmosphere and gain your own initial experience.
All you need to bring is curiosity, a love of music and a self-identification with the term FLINTA* (women, lesbians, inter-, non-binary, trans and agender people).
The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 7 people per workshop in order to create a personal and pleasant learning atmosphere. The allocation of places in the workshop will be drawn by lot. Only one person can register per email.
