DJing basics – intensive workshop for beginners with Esshar

What you can expect:

• What is DJing? Introduction to the basics and tasks of DJs.

• Sound carriers & formats: MP3, WAV, AIFF, FLAC – what’s behind them?

• Find and organize music: Tips on online stores and USB formatting.

• DJ software: Introduction to Rekordbox and Traktor.

• Technical DJ basics: beatmatching, transitions, counting bars, BPM & cue.

• Sound engineering basics: volume level, signal flow, gain, equalizer (EQ), cable types and the importance of monitors.

• Devices and setups: Pioneer multi-player, mixer, laptop, controller – functions and application.

• Practical part: Setting up a DJ setup together and trying it out on your own.

• Technology recommendations: What’s worth getting started with?

You will have the opportunity to try out what you have learned at several stations in a relaxed atmosphere and gain your own initial experience.

All you need to bring is curiosity, a love of music and a self-identification with the term FLINTA* (women, lesbians, inter-, non-binary, trans and agender people).

The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 7 people per workshop in order to create a personal and pleasant learning atmosphere.

The allocation of places in the workshop will be drawn by lot. Only one person can register per email.
